Construction Pro-Habitat (“Pro-Habitat”, “we”) processes your personal information in accordance with the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Quebec Law 25). This policy applies to your use of the website constructionprohabitat.com.

2. Information collected
When you fill out a form or contact us, we only collect the information needed to handle your request: first name, last name, email, phone number, project type, description, and where applicable photos/plans/resume. The site also collects standard technical browsing data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed) and, with your consent, anonymized audience metrics.
3. Use
We use your information strictly to:
- Respond to your quote or information request;
- Perform the contract entered into with you, where applicable;
- Evaluate your application if you apply for a position;
- Comply with our legal, accounting and regulatory obligations (RBQ, taxation);
- Improve our site and services.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. Clearly false or incomplete information may lead to the refusal or termination of a service.
4. Subcontractors and third parties
Your information is never sold, rented or traded. To deliver our services we rely on technical subcontractors bound by the same confidentiality obligations. Main subcontractors and the nature of data processed:
- TonCRM (TonCRM.io, Canada) — receipt and management of quote requests and applications (name, email, phone, message, files).
- Resend (Resend Inc., USA) — sending transactional notification emails (name, email, message content).
- Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) — cloud hosting for the site and application servers.
- Umami Analytics (self-hosted, Germany) — anonymized audience metrics, no third-party cookies, only when you enable the “Analytics” category in the consent banner.
- Financeit (Canada) — financing program, only when you explicitly opt in by clicking the application button.
Your information may also be disclosed when required by law (court, tax authority, RBQ, etc.).
5. Hosting and transfers outside Quebec
Our main servers are located in Germany (Hetzner, European Union — adequate protection level). Some technical providers (notably Resend for email delivery) may process data in the United States. Before any transfer outside Quebec, we assess the risks under section 17 of Law 25 and ensure appropriate contractual (confidentiality clauses) and technical (TLS 1.3 in transit, encryption at rest) protections are in place.
6. Retention period
Your information is kept only as long as necessary for the purposes above and in accordance with our legal obligations:
- Unaccepted quotes: 12 months;
- Unsuccessful applications: 12 months (then deleted);
- Active client files: 7 years after the last intervention, in line with tax and construction warranty obligations;
- Security logs: 90 days.
Beyond that, data is destroyed or irreversibly anonymized.
7. Your rights
Under Law 25, you have the following rights:
- Access: obtain a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Rectification: correct inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information;
- Withdraw consent: withdraw consent for optional processing (analytics, marketing);
- Portability (section 27 of Law 25): receive your information in a structured, commonly used technological format, or have it transferred directly to another organization;
- De-indexing and cessation of dissemination: request that your information no longer be disseminated or indexed online when dissemination causes you harm;
- Complaint to CAI: file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (CAI) if you believe your rights are not respected.
To exercise these rights, send your written request to our officer (section 1). We respond within a reasonable time not exceeding 30 days. Reasonable fees may be charged for any request requiring complex transcription, reproduction or transmission, as permitted by law.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our site uses three cookie / local-storage categories:
- Strictly necessary (always on): theme (
cph_theme), consent record (cph_consent_v2). This data stays in your browser and is never sent to third parties. Language is no longer stored: it is carried by the page address. - Analytics (opt-in): self-hosted Umami, anonymized audience measurement without third-party cookies or unique fingerprint. Off by default.
- Marketing (opt-in): no marketing cookie currently deployed. This category stays off until a tool is added.
You can adjust your preferences at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of the site.
9. Security and incidents
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information: TLS 1.3 encryption in transit, restricted access via multi-factor authentication, privileged access logging, encrypted off-site backups, regular security updates. In the event of a confidentiality incident presenting a risk of serious harm, we will apply the notification obligations set out in Law 25 (notification to CAI and affected individuals as quickly as possible).

11. Changes
This policy may be modified at any time. The date shown above indicates the last update. Significant changes will be announced via a banner on the site or by email to active clients. Your continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the version in force.
12. Applicable law
This policy is governed by the laws in force in the province of Quebec and applicable federal Canadian law. Any dispute relating to its interpretation or application falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Trois-Rivières.
